The TimeVerb-X plugin from GSi represents a noteworthy advancement in reverb technology, merging the iconic Type4 spring reverb with a newly developed algorithmic digital reverb. Originally launched in 2008, the Type4 spring reverb emulation draws inspiration from the Accutronics reverb tank utilized in classic Hammond organs of the A100 series and various electric guitar amplifiers.

The digital reverb algorithm, initially formulated for the GSi Gemini sound module, has also found its way into certain Crumar hardware instruments. In the TimeVerb-X release, both effects have been refined; the spring reverb now offers a self-oscillating feedback decay adjustment and a stereo width control. Meanwhile, the digital reverb introduces an early reflections section previously absent from its original design. The combination of these two reverbs creates rich soundscapes when processed in parallel and further enhances atmospheric textures when used in series.
